Biography

Corina Maria Socorro Azores-Macalintal, a dedicated neurologist, is known in the field of  headache management and neurological care. Her tireless commitment to improving patient outcomes and her involvement in various medical organizations exemplify her passion to healthcare excellence.

Her educational journey began with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (1994) and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of the Philippines-Manila (1990). She pursued Adult Neurology residency at Makati Medical Center (1996-1999), and holds certification as a headache master from the International Headache Society (2013), with additional training at Taiwan Veterans General Hospital (2019).

In addition to her clinical role as active consultant in Asian Hospital & Medical Center, UHBI-PDH and MCMI, she has generously shared her knowledge through her involvement with the Miraculous Medal Community-Based Rehabilitation Center, a charitable endeavor since 2012. She has recently been appointed as the head of the Headache Clinic of Asian Brain Institute at Asian Hospital & Medical Center.

Corina’s legacy encompasses research on headache management, neuropathic pain treatment, and contribution to "A Handbook on Headache Management in Adults and Children." She has been invited to share her expertise on headache medicine locally and internationally and headed the scientific program of the first Philippine Headache Society convention in 2022.
