Biography

Anders Hougaard is Head of Research and Consultant Neurologist at the Department of Neurology, Herlev & Gentofte Hospital, and Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Dr. Hougaard has been actively involved in headache research since 2009 and has authored more than 70 articles and book chapters in the headache field. His current main research interests include the pathophysiology of stroke and migraine with aura, cortical spreading depolarization, and neuroimaging methods including structural and functional MRI. He serves as Associate Editor of Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain, and is a lecturer and course leader at the Master of Headache Disorders Programme, University of Copenhagen.
