A collaboration between IHS, Lifting the Burden and the European Headache Federation successfully submitted proposals for drugs to be included in the essential medicines list.

The group sought to add three drugs for acute treatment of migraine, and to include for the first time cluster headache among the disorders covered by the list, along with three drugs for its acute and preventative management; all of these applications were successful.
