IHS 2024 Headache Science Award recipients announced
IHS is delighted to announce the results of Headache Science Awards for 2024.
The IHS Headache Science Awards are awarded on an annual basis to recognise promising early- and mid-career basic, clinical or translational scientists whose research has contributed to the headache field.
The 2024 recipients are
Mid-career Award: David García Azorín
David received his MD in 2012, completed his neurology residency in 2016, and received his PhD on secondary headache detection in 2021. He works at the University of Valladolid – Hospital Universitario Río Hortega, Spain.
Early-career Award: Haidar Al-khazali
Haidar received his MD in 2019 and is currently a PhD Fellow, doing research on hypersensitivity to CGRP as a predictive biomarker of migraine prevention, at the Department of Neurology and Danish Headache Center, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark.
David and Haidar will give a short presentation of their research during IHC 2025 in São Paulo, Brazil, September 2025.
