Biography
Mona Nada is a consultant neurologist and professor of neurology at Cairo University. She received her degree in MBBCh (Medicine and Surgery) from Cairo University, Egypt in 1996. She received her master degree in neurology in 2000 and her MD in 2005 from Cairo University, Egypt, which is one of the biggest tertiary centers in the Middle East and North Africa. Neurology department at Cairo university is a successful running department which is included in Continuing medical education (CME) in collaboration with World Federation of Neurology and EFNS and is considered as a regional training center for Africa.
She is currently the coordinator of the Kasr Alainy Headache and related disorders unit (KAHDU) at Cairo university hospitals. She is also a board member of headache chapter in Egyptian Society of Neurology, Psychiatry and Neurosurgery.
She is a member of the women leadership forum as a special interest group in International Headache Society. She is also a member of the Headache MENAA study group.
She is former Associate Professor of Neurology, Department of Neurology, College of Medicine, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which is affiliated from Monash university in Australia.
She has been actively involved in headache research since 2008 and has authored and coauthored many peer-reviewed articles published both in national and international journals and is a reviewer for international journals as well. She supervised a lot of master degree and medical doctorate degrees thesis in department of neurology, Cairo university. She volunteered to teach a full course in headache medicine for neurologists and non-neurologists under the patronage of the Egyptian medical syndicate. Her main interests include pathogenesis of migraine, cluster headache and headache in special groups.
