Biography
Timo Klan is a psychologist and licensed psychotherapist (behavioral therapy) with additional certification in “Specialized Pain Psychotherapy.” He is a research associate at the Institute of Psychology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU, https://klipsy.uni-mainz.de/). His research focuses on the behavioral assessment and treatment of headache disorders. He also leads the chronic-pain treatment program at the Outpatient Institute Clinic for Psychotherapy at JGU Mainz (https://psychotherapie-mainz.de/patient_innen/chronische-schmerzerkrankungen/), where he also serves as a clinical supervisor.
He is Co-Chair of the Psychology Special Interest Group (SIG) and is committed to strengthening the role of psychology in headache management at the international level.
