Activities
- Establishing relations with international and local medical institutions and implementing joint projects
- Developing and implementing measures to improve the provision of appropriate medical care and preventive measures to the population suffering from headaches in Georgia to international standards
- Implementing new international experiences and data on headache diagnosis, clinical assessment, treatment and prevention in accordance with international standards
- Educational activities, training and retraining of specialists in the field of headache treatment, creating and periodically updating the methodology for this activity, creating special training courses, participating in the certification of postgraduate and continuing medical education
- Developing and implementing unified standards for the treatment of the disease
- Protecting the interests and rights of patients and doctors
- Participating in the procedures necessary for the implementation of recommendations provided by relevant international organizations in practice
- Work on regulatory legislative acts related to the field
- Printing activities. Publishing magazines and newspapers
- Establishing professional ethics
- Finding sources of funding
- Receiving and issuing grants
Society membership
Any individual or legal entity, who recognizes the organization’s charter and applies to the board of directors with a written application may be a member of the organization.
IHS membership
Georgia is listed by World Bank as an Upper-middle income (UMI) country. Members can join IHS at the discounted UMI membership rate. Juniors* from Georgia can join IHS free of charge as a Junior Associate Member.
*Junior: currently an under- or post-graduate student (including but not limited to medical students and PhD students) or a medical doctor training to become a specialist. For medical doctors alternatively within 3 years of obtaining medical doctorate or academic post graduate degree or specialist certification, whichever was obtained latest, up to 15 years following MD qualification. For other academic groups, including Allied and other healthcare professionals, alternatively within 6 years of obtaining latest academic degree up to 15 years following primary qualification
